Matt’s final gift is to a stranger (and, in a way, to us all)
Matt made the decision some time ago to donate his eyes when he passed away. We have received some great news. Mom and Dad received a letter the other day stating that someone had benefited from Matt’s generosity. The letter from Illinois Eye-Bank states in part, “Because of your compassion, a second chance for sight has been given to a young man from Clawson, Michigan. The restoration of sight can change a life forever, as Matthew’s precious gift has done.”
I hope this brightens your day as it did mine.
Thinking of you today Matthew because its been four months now since you left us so quickly. Life will never be the same but we carry on with memories of you.

Our Mom donated her eyes also. We received 2-letters from the families that benefited from Mom’s generosity. Those beautiful blue eyes still live on from both Matt and Mom.

This gift of sight is a true example of Matt’s generosity and kindness in his life, and now even after death,he once again, shows us that generosity and kindness he possessed. It is my hope that the young man, the recipient of Matt’s gift sees the beauty of this world he may never has seen before.
