Baseball
Matt had a little name for his fastball. It was “The Viper,” because of the way he held the ball. I can still remember the sound of it in the air, not unlike the hiss of a snake now that I think about it.

Now that Mom & Dad are officially oler people, we are learning all the things the three of you did in Michigan that you were told not to do. This would inlude going in back of the Dawsons house and down by the creek, in the winter you were forbidden to walk out on lake Michigan among the high drifts of snow, sand, and ice. I wonder who’s idea it was to break those rules. Matt was a daredevil, and refused to be out done, but c’mon, all of that was not just his idea, was it? Summer in New Buffalo, the lake, Joe and MaryAnn’s pool across the street. Good times, good times, remember them always.
I remember those days well…as I’m sure MOM does
Oh yes, and of course”Marco Polo” at the pool.
Remember Hobbo and his nickname for me, “ahhhbs”…makes me smile.
Hobbo awaits those in their attic or any place he can’t be seen or heard.
He will get you when you least expect it. He has promised not to get Tim Britton though. Someone should let him know, perhaps he can relax a bit.Ha!
“Ahblu ahblu ahblu” – the sound he used to make while making a gesture for stomach rolls after calling you Ahhhbs. And don’t forget, I was “21 dots.”
What was 21 dots? I didn’t know or remember that one.
He called me that because of the little whiteheads on the skin around my eyes. I assume he just came up with that number out of the blue. If he actually counted them it would have been while I slept as I certainly would not have knowingly let him count them, haha!
